Chopticon High hosted this year’s SMAC basketball Senior All-Star games on Friday night. The South team won the girls game 47-40 in the opener, with Huntingtown’s Savannah Hardy earning the honor as the squad’s Most Outstanding Player after scoring 11 points. Lackey’s Shavonne Duckett took the North’s honors after a 15-point effort.
Led by Lackey’s Rashad Beam and his 20 points, the North boys took a 94-79 decision in the nightcap. Beam took home the boys honors, while Chopticon’s Devon Yates earned the nod for the South after scoring 11.
